Vitor Almeida de Oliveira grew up in Almada, Portugal, where he heard fado and traditional Portuguese music as a child. He later studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Back in Portugal, he joined the band Trovante, which mixed traditional sounds with contemporary ones.
His solo debut came in 2006 with the album 'O Som Das Águas.' The title track became well-known in Portugal for its gentle melody and his emotive singing. The song remains his most recognized work.
After Trovante, he continued performing and recording on his own. His music draws from those early influences without strictly adhering to any single genre.
