Viviane Batidão came up in Salvador, Bahia, where the local axé music gave her a foundation. She started singing and dancing at neighborhood festivals, taking cues from artists like Ivete Sangalo and Claudia Leitte. Her style eventually mixed that axé tradition with more current pop touches.
In 2016, her single "Vem Meu Amor" broke through and became a hit. The track's direct, danceable energy drew attention, though some listeners found her lyrics and stage presence provocative.
Her first album was called "Axé da Alegria," and she followed it with records like "Minha Vez" and "O Som da Bahia." She's recorded with other Brazilian artists including Xanddy, Leo Santana, and Gusttavo Lima. Her longtime producer is Ivan Cru.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
