Vond

Vond came together after some members left Borknagar, another Norwegian black metal band. Stian Arnesen, who goes by Nagash, handles vocals and guitar, while Simen Hestnæs, known as ICS Vortex, plays bass and sings. The band's name comes from the Norwegian word for pain.

Their first album was called Selvmord, which came out in 2015. The title track explores suicide, and some listeners found its depiction of self-harm too graphic. This led to criticism that the band was sensationalizing mental health struggles, though others saw it as a form of artistic expression.

Vond's music deals with dark themes like depression and despair. They followed Selvmord with another album, Ravn, in 2018. Songs like The Dark River and Love I Never Had continue in this vein, with lyrics that examine emotional turmoil and the fragility of existence.
