Vone formed in the early 2000s in Campinas, São Paulo. The band's name comes from the Portuguese word for absence, which gives a sense of their sound. They released albums like "Minha Ausência" in 2004, "Garotas e Rapazes" in 2006, "Só as Nuvens Vão Passar" in 2009, and "Dois Lados" in 2012.
Rogério Flausino was the vocalist and songwriter. Other members included Pedro Pelotas on guitar, Rodrigo Monte on bass, and Leandro Lisboa on drums. Their song "Minha Ausência" became particularly well-known.
Some critics early on called their sound emo, but they kept working and built a following. Their music had atmospheric qualities and lyrics that connected with listeners in Brazil.
