Vonray is an indie-electronic duo formed in 2010 by Amber Coffman and Josh Scott. Coffman had been part of Dirty Projectors before this, and Scott had worked with Halou. Their first album came out in 2012, simply called 'Vonray,' and it included the song 'Inside Out.'
That track, 'Inside Out,' became their most recognizable piece. It's built around Coffman's vocals and Scott's electronic textures, which give their music its particular feel. They followed it with another album in 2017 titled 'All We Have Left.'
In 2015, Coffman spoke publicly about dealing with anxiety and depression. Around that same period, some listeners noted similarities between Vonray's sound and that of the British duo Disclosure, though the band maintained their work was original. Their other songs include 'I'll Show You,' 'Apology,' 'Hole,' and 'I'm Learning.'
