Vôo Noturno formed in São Paulo in 1983, with Paulo Ricardo on vocals and composition, Marcelo Sussekind on keyboards, Ney Couteiro on bass, and Alex Scholtz on drums. Their self-titled debut came out the following year, followed by 'Asas' with the single 'Asa Delta'.
Their third album in 1986 included 'Fecha os Olhos,' known in English as 'Close Your Eyes.' The song's atmospheric quality and introspective lyrics connected with listeners beyond Brazil. Other tracks like 'A Escolha' and 'Bem Vindo Ao Mundo Real' also appeared in their catalog.
After some lineup shifts, including Scholtz's departure in 1989, the band went on hiatus. Ricardo remained the consistent member through various changes.
