Voo Rasante is a Portuguese duo from Lisbon, formed in the early 2000s by vocalists Jorge Cruz and Diana Castro. Their music draws from fado and traditional Portuguese sounds, mixing in folk and pop elements. They released their debut album "Serpente" in 2004, followed by "Cuidado" in 2008.
Their song "Lamuor" came out in 2008 and became their most recognized work. The track's themes around domestic violence and gender inequality sparked public discussion in Portugal at the time. In 2010, Jorge Cruz was diagnosed with a neurological disorder that temporarily affected his ability to sing, leading to canceled shows before the duo returned to performing in 2012.
