Fleeting

I've never seen a sunrise quite like yours

And your smile opens doors to places that I've never been

I sit and wonder what all of this could mean

Will the sun one day set?

Only to be forced to forget

To sit and reminisce of those special days

Stuck with only fragments of those moments,

Now suspended only in memory

Without anything tangible left to fill this now empty scenery

This empty canvas

This cycle of such viciousness

Of rebirth and rediscovery

Only to be put back into this same misery

Each time the sun sets

And it will inevitably set

Leaving me with hours of missed opportunities and regret

Too blind to see the beauty right in front of our eyes

Seeing infatuation in its most malicious disguise
