W3 Sul was a Brazilian band from Rio de Janeiro with members André Gabeh on vocals and guitar, Marcio Buzelin on bass, and Sérgio Britto on drums. They released their first single "A Te Esperar" in 1987, followed by a self-titled album the next year. Their sound mixed MPB with rock and pop elements.
Their song "A Te Esperar" became particularly well-known, appearing in films and television shows and getting covered by other artists. Other tracks like "Aquela Sexta" and "Virei Emo" also found an audience. The band put out albums through the early 1990s including "O Mundo" in 1990 and "Deserto" in 1992.
W3 Sul's music often dealt with themes of love and longing. Their recordings continue to be played on radio and streaming services years later.
