A São Paulo trio mixing guitar rock with sharp social commentary since 2017.
For their political side, 'Rap Guerra do Iraque' says it plain. For their melodic sense, 'Frágil' holds up.
Wado's songs often carry more weight than their indie rock packaging suggests. 'Rap Guerra do Iraque' tackles geopolitical conflict with direct language, while 'Frágil' shows their quieter side. They've managed to collaborate with both Hikaru Utada and Ed Sheeran without losing their São Paulo grounding.
Formed in 2017 with Yuta Nakano on vocals and guitar, they released their debut EP 'Stargazer' the next year. The 2020 single 'Rosa' brought attention and controversy with plagiarism allegations that were later dismissed. Their three albums, 'Stargazer' (2018), 'Elysium' (2020), and 'Reverie' (2022), show steady output.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
