A Brazilian duo that built a following over four albums of melodic, hopeful songs.
If you're new to Wagner Mali, start with 'Amanhecer', it's the one people tend to know. Then try 'Liberdade' or 'Ligo Tanto' to hear more of their sound.
Their 2011 song 'Amanhecer' became their most recognizable track, a hopeful piece that connected with listeners. Other songs like 'Liberdade' and 'Ligo Tanto' show their blend of indie rock and folk with Brazilian rhythms. They weren't an easy sell to labels early on, but they kept at it for over a decade.
Wagner Mali formed in 2005 around singer-songwriter Wagner Moura and guitarist Mallu Magalhães. They released four albums between 2008 and 2019, starting with Amor e Revolução and ending with O Caminho é o Sol. The band worked with bassist André Almeida and drummer Ney Faustini throughout their run.
