Background notes

Archive material and source history

Wakadanna formed in 2011 with Hiroki Hayama on vocals, Takuya Yamamoto on guitar, Jun Sakamoto on bass, and Yutaka Nakamura on drums. Their sound pulled from pop, rock, and punk, built around driving rhythms and Hayama's high vocals.

Their 2011 song "Makeru Na Chiisaki Mono Yo" became their most recognizable track. In 2013, Hayama's diagnosis with vocal cord nodules led to some canceled shows. Around that time, the band had to address the song's unauthorized adoption by certain political groups, distancing themselves from that use.

They released singles and albums like "Subete wa Bokura no Negai no Tame ni" in 2012 and "Ashita no Kimi e" in 2014. Their music has appeared in anime and video game soundtracks.
