A Cincinnati band that built a following with straightforward melodic writing and kept going.
For their early energy, try 'All I Want.' For where they landed, 'Shut Up and Dance' still says it.
They started playing local bars and festivals in Ohio, building an audience with their indie pop sound. Their 2014 album 'Talking Is Hard' included the hit 'Shut Up and Dance,' which became their signature track. Songs like 'Blue Dress' and 'Anyway I Can' show how they've maintained that core sound through lineup changes and later albums.
Walk the Moon formed in 2006 with members Eli Maiman, Nick Lerangis, Kevin Ray, and Sean Waugaman. Their debut album 'I Want! I Want!' came out in 2010, followed by 'Talking Is Hard' in 2014. After Lerangis left, Eli Maiman's brother joined on keyboards, and they've kept recording with the same core lineup since.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
