Wall Wang formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s, taking their name from the Brazilian poet and songwriter Belchior. The core lineup included Bruno Bonfim on vocals and guitar, Heitor Diniz on drums, and Letieres Leite on bass. Their debut album "Não Olha Para Trás" came out in 2004, followed by "O Futuro É um Lugar Estranho" in 2007 and "Fortaleza" in 2010.
Their music drew from rock, folk, and Brazilian popular music, with influences that included Lou Reed, David Bowie, and Bob Dylan. Songs like "BELCHIOR" and "Lugar Nenhum" reflected their interest in personal and social themes, often with a raw, introspective quality that resonated with some listeners while striking others as too confrontational.
In 2013 they released an album titled "Belchior," a tribute to the late singer-songwriter. Later records included "A Corrida do Ouro" in 2016 and "Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira" in 2020.
