Wallace e Weydner started making music together in Brazil in the late 1990s. The duo consists of Wallace Viana, who sings and writes songs, and Weydner da Silva, who handles percussion and other instruments. Their first album came out in 2000, simply titled 'Wallace e Weydner.'
Their songs often touch on social issues in Brazil. 'Tem Miséria Não' became one of their better-known tracks for its direct lyrics about poverty and inequality. Other songs like 'Cansado de Esperar' and 'Conto de Fadas' also appear among their most popular work.
They released several albums through the 2000s, including 'Samba Reggae' in 2002 and 'Direito de Viver' in 2004. Their music pulls from samba, funk, and reggae, but the focus usually stays on the words and the rhythm driving them forward.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
