't is overlaatst weeral bewezen
't is op het Sint Jacobsplein.
Waar kunde nog beter zijn
dan bij ons, op het Sint Jacobsplein
al vele jaren gaat de vlieger hier omhoge
de stirt ist plezier dat ziede van hier.
Maar ne slimme gast vond de vlieger niet gepast
de bollekes te klein, 't moesten loballen zijn
mee ne luchtballon kwam 't hij over 't pleintje vliegen
maar hij zag te laat dat er een kirke staat.
De lobal ging omhuge, veurgewarmt en stirk
maar bleef hangen aan het kruis van de kirk
de mensen kwamen en keken naar omhuge
en dachten we gaan we een mirakel zien.
De mensen riepen van huis tot huis
Er hangt er daar weer iene aan het kruis
Er was zoveel volk, 't was precies de Gentse Fieste
en iedereen kreeg dust maar dat wierd rap geblust
De pompiers moesten kommen, en ze klommen en klommen
want daar hoge in de toren zij-de verre van huis
't was een heel gedoe om onze vlieger te verlossen
uit zijn moeilijke positie daar aan da kruis
Als ge in 't vervolg op het Sint Jacobsplein
de slimste of de strafste wil zijn
en ge wilt 't een en 't ander naar omhuge
hèwt de koorde strak en uw bollekens op zak!
