Wandim Rey formed in 2004 in Salvador, Bahia, with Wladimir Sodré on vocals, Dimontier Reis on accordion, and Marlus Reis on bass. Their music pulls from Brazilian rhythms like forró and reggae, though they give it a modern twist. In 2015, they put out "Bebe No Gargalo," a song about drinking that caught on fast and became their biggest hit.
That song stirred up some talk about whether it was encouraging too much partying, but the band kept putting out tracks. They've got other songs like "Salve o Forró" and "Vaqueiro Ostentação" that show their feel for Brazilian styles. They've released three albums: "Cabana do Pescador" in 2011, "Nosso Grito" in 2015, and a live album from Salvador in 2018.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
