Wasuta (The World Standard)

Wasuta, sometimes called The World Standard, is a Japanese idol group that started in 2017 with the single 'Niko Niko Hanbunko.' Their music often mixes pop with hip-hop and sometimes traditional Japanese sounds. They've put out albums like 'Wasuta' in 2018, followed by 'Patissier,' 'Shiroi Kara,' and 'Marching Wasuta.' Songs like 'Ranran Jidai' and 'Tapioca Milk Tea' show their range.

In 2019, member Moa Tsukino left the group due to health reasons. The remaining members, including Nanase Hoshii and Rion Iida, kept going. Hoshii handles vocals and leads the group, while Iida contributes rapping and songwriting.

Their lyrics sometimes touch on topics like mental health or LGBTQ+ issues, which has drawn attention both positive and negative. They've kept at it, releasing music that doesn't stick to one style.
