Watch Me Breathe formed in 2009 when vocalist Emily Day met guitarist Ethan Carter. They were later joined by bassist Alex Richards and drummer Michael Green. Their debut album 'Echoes of the Past' came out in 2012, with the single 'Swallow' reaching the alternative rock charts.

After Richards left the band in 2015, Watch Me Breathe went on hiatus. The members worked on solo projects during this time. They reunited in 2018 and released a second album called 'Beneath the Surface.'
