Archive material and source history

Watch Me Disappear was a trio formed in 2010 by Kevin Nguyen on vocals and guitar, Thomas Dutton on bass, and Jarrod Gorbel on drums. They put out two EPs, The Unseen in 2011 and Awake in 2013, before releasing their debut full-length album in 2015. That album was called Emotional Blackmail, which is also the title of one of their better-known songs.

Their music had an atmospheric quality that drew from post-rock and shoegaze, with ethereal guitar work and sparse vocals. Other tracks like Onan the Barbarian and Render show the same moody, introspective approach. The band went on hiatus in 2017 after a relatively short run.
