Watershed formed in 2000 with Andrew Vladeck on vocals and guitar, Adrianne Richards playing multiple instruments, and Jared Silas on drums. Their debut album 'Indigo Sky' came out in 2002, featuring the song 'Indigo Girl' that became a fan favorite. They followed with 'The Lost River' in 2005 and 'Whispers in the Wind' in 2009.
Richards left the band in 2005 to work on solo projects. Some critics found their sound too somber or lacking energy, but their music connected with listeners who appreciated its introspective quality. Songs like 'All I Could Offer' and 'Angel' showed their range within a generally atmospheric folk style.
They released three albums total before stopping, with 'Whispers in the Wind' serving as their final recording. Their work remains available for those drawn to that particular strain of indie folk from the 2000s.
