WD Angelz formed in São Paulo in the late 1990s with Wilgner on vocals, Diego on guitar, Anderson on bass, and Leandro on drums. Their song 'Patriotas Em Ação' came out in 2002 and became widely heard at rallies and sporting events in Brazil.
Their music often drew criticism from those who saw it as overly nationalistic, but the band kept recording patriotic material. They released several other songs including 'Brasil, Meu Brasil' in 2004 and 'Terra Amada' in 2007.
Like many Brazilian acts at the time, they faced challenges with music piracy affecting their income. They continued performing and recording through at least 2010 when 'Guerreiros do Brasil' came out.
