His 1954 recording "I Love You Dear" became a signature song, topping the country charts. Other songs from his catalog include "More And More," "Jinx In Love," and "A Thousand Miles Ago."
Pierce worked with musicians like steel guitarist Red Sovine and guitarist Grady Martin, who were part of his band the Wondering Boys. He died in 1991.
