Weeping Willow formed in Lebanon in 2006 with Maya Khoury on vocals, Nadim Makhlouf on guitar, Khaled Omran on bass, and Bassam Nahas on drums. They put out their first album, 'Lifeless Dreams,' in 2008. Their song 'Craving Whore' became a notable track for them, and they titled their 2012 sophomore album after it.
Their lyrics sometimes touched on themes that drew criticism from more conservative listeners, but they kept working. They released a third album, 'In the Wake of Shadows,' in 2017. Other songs in their catalog include 'Deflowered,' 'Graveworms,' and 'Seeds Of Deceit.'
