In 2018, he put out a track called "Ela Desce (Picote)," and it caught on quickly, becoming a viral hit that pushed him into a wider spotlight.
That song also brought some trouble. Wesley Araújo didn't back down, saying the music just reflected where he was from. He kept working, putting out his first album, "O Rei do Picote," that same year, and followed it with "Vai Voltar" in 2021. He plays with a band called Os Poetas do Passinho, and they help bring his songs to life on stage.
