Archive material and source history
Wet Fingers formed in Warsaw in the mid-1980s around vocalist Jarosław "Jaro" Janiszewski, with guitarist Piotr "Baca" Baczyński, bassist Andrzej "Lem" Lemański, and drummer Marek "Maki" Makowski. They released their debut single "Małgośka" in 1987, a pop song about a young woman named Małgosia that became a hit in Poland.
That song established them as a popular band of the era, and they followed it with albums like "Życie jak wariat" in 1988 and "Wolny jak ptak" in 1990. They faced a serious car accident in 1989 but kept recording through the 1990s, putting out records like "Pora na zmiany" in 1993 and "Nie ma nic" in 1996.
In 2002, a legal dispute over song rights including "Małgośka" led to the band dissolving. Janiszewski and Baczyński reunited Wet Fingers with a new lineup in 2016 and released the album "Moje miasto."
