White Arms of Athena formed in 2005 with Benjamin James Cook on vocals and guitar, Gabe Madero on bass, and Allan Krantz on drums. Their debut album, Act I: Evince, came out in 2007. They followed it with Act II: Divina in 2010, which drew mixed reactions from critics and fans. The band kept releasing albums like Act III: In Metamorphic Dreams in 2013 and Act IV: The Silent Abhorrence in 2016.
Cook dealt with depression and writer's block at times, and the band had financial trouble despite touring. Madero left in 2018 and was replaced by Eric Surface. Krantz departed in 2020, with Nick Gremmel taking over on drums. Their songs include Act I: Ascend and Act III: In The Encephalon.
