Editor's note

Wild Orchid's pop harmonies and one Christmas hit

A 1990s vocal group whose seasonal track '25 Days of Christmas' outlasted their original pop run.

If you only know one thing, it's probably '25 Days of Christmas.' But 'At Night I Pray' gives you a better sense of their original sound.

They worked in that pop and R&B space that was popular at the time, leaning on vocal harmonies. Their holiday track '25 Days of Christmas' became their most recognizable song and still gets seasonal play. Songs like 'At Night I Pray' and 'Love Will Wait' show what they were doing before the Christmas hit took over.

Their self-titled debut album came out in 1996. Stacy Ferguson left in 2001, and the remaining three members put out one more album, 'Fire,' that same year. The band stopped working together around 2003.

Wild Orchid was a vocal group that formed in the early 1990s, with Stacy Ferguson, Renee Sandstrom, Stefanie Ridel, and Fergie Duhamel as members. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1996 and included songs like 'At Night I Pray' and 'Talk to Me.' They worked in that pop and R&B space that was popular at the time, leaning on vocal harmonies.

In 1999 they released a holiday album called 'Wild Orchid Christmas.' The track '25 Days of Christmas,' a reworked version of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas,' became their most recognizable song. It did well on the charts and got a lot of seasonal play.

Stacy Ferguson left the group in 2001, and the remaining three members put out one more album, 'Fire,' that same year. The band stopped working together around 2003. Afterward, Fergie Duhamel found much wider fame as part of the Black Eyed Peas, and Stacy Ferguson, who performs as Fergie, built a solo career. Their other songs, like 'Love Will Wait' and 'Stuttering (Don't Say),' are less remembered now than that Christmas track.
