He taught himself guitar and grew up with Cree traditional music, later drawing from artists like Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. His 2015 album 'Earthly Days' brought wider attention, with the song 'Lighthouse' becoming a particular touchpoint for listeners.
That album won a Juno Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year and was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize. He has since released 'Reliever' in 2019 and 'Stand in the Fire' in 2022. Prince performs solo with various supporting musicians.
