Wimp

Wimp formed in Rio de Janeiro around 2002, with Felipe Catto on vocals, Conrado Goys on guitar, Thiago Simpatia on bass, and Marcelo May on drums. They started playing local bars and clubs, and in 2004 released their debut album 'Quem Sabe Agora.' The title track became a national hit, a ballad that connected with listeners across Brazil.

After that first album, they put out records like 'Pequeno Dicionário de Palavras ao Vento' in 2007, 'O Silêncio de um Planeta Que Não Para de Girar' in 2011, and 'Quase Lindo' in 2015. Their sound mixed pop and rock with Brazilian styles, and songs like 'Agora ou Nunca' and 'Deixado Pra Trás' showed their range. In 2018, Catto came out as gay, which drew some criticism but also support from fans.

The band has kept the same four members, and they've worked with artists like Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso. Their music has appeared in films and TV shows, and they've been vocal about social and environmental issues while continuing to tour and record.
