Wind

Wind was a London band that formed in 1967 with John Roberts on vocals, Richard Holmes on guitar, David Watts on bass, and Tony Reeves on drums. They released their debut album 'Wind of Change' in 1968, which included the song 'Let The Sun Shine In Your Heart.' That track became their most recognizable hit, carrying a straightforward message of optimism that resonated during the late 1960s.

Their music often leaned into themes of unity and peace, which sometimes put them at odds with more conservative listeners of the era. They kept recording through the early 1970s, putting out albums like 'Mother Earth' in 1969 and 'The Harvest' in 1970. Other songs in their catalog, such as 'Für Alle' and 'Herz Aus Stein,' continued in a similar vein of earnest, melodic pop.

By 1974 they had released 'We Are One,' and keyboardist Alan Tarney had joined the lineup sometime after 1969. The band's sound was built around Roberts's vocals and accessible arrangements, leaving behind a handful of songs that still get played for their uncomplicated, sunny feel.
