Witchaven came out of Chicago in the late 1980s. They were an extreme metal band that worked in the underground for a while before their second album, 'Dark Ages,' got some attention in 1994. That record had a mix of thrash and doom elements that connected with certain metal listeners.
Their catalog includes songs like 'Black Thrash Assault' and 'Conflagration,' which give a fair idea of their sound. They put out a debut called 'Victorious' and a later studio album titled 'Resurrection.' The band's lineup changed at times, but founding members included Jim Hunter on vocals, John Campos on guitar, and Dave Mustaine on drums.
