With Blood Comes Cleansing formed in Omaha, Nebraska in 2003 around frontman Cody Almeida, guitarist Joe Giddings, bassist Brian Huxman, and drummer Dan Kennedy. Their sound drew from hardcore punk and black metal, creating something heavy and atmospheric right from their 2006 debut album 'Golgotha'.
They followed that with 'Horns to the Heavens' in 2009 and 'Ageless, Eternal' in 2012, each record exploring different shades of their dark, punishing style. The lineup shifted when Huxman left in 2010 and was replaced by Clint Henderson. Almeida also dealt with addiction issues during this period.
After Almeida sought treatment, the band returned with 'Take Everything' in 2016, which included songs like 'Eternal Reign' and 'Carnivorous Consumption.' The album felt like a more focused statement from a group that had weathered some internal storms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
