Wizzard

Wizzard formed in the early 1970s around Roy Wood, who had previously been part of Curved Air. Their first album, 'Wizzard Brew,' came out in 1972. The band's sound mixed rock with theatrical glam elements, heard on tracks like 'Angel De La Barthe' and 'Feathers Burn, Leather Doesn't.'

In 1973, they released 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday,' which reached number four on the UK Singles Chart. The song became a seasonal staple in Britain, played heavily each December. Wizzard put out a second album, 'Introducing Eddy and the Falcons,' in 1974 before disbanding.

Roy Wood went on to work solo after the group ended. While Wizzard was active for only a few years, their Christmas single has outlasted the band itself, still turning up on holiday playlists decades later.
