The Echoing

No words can state

the weight of their mistake

My thoughts will run and start to weigh them down

until the end just like before

The sound of waves are crashing down

and leaves us wanting more for you and I

The echoing of the beating heart

will crash down every wall

Remember the day their shadows will fall

Remember the night and the sounds we recall

Remember the times the whole world stood still

like ice on the wall from our windowsill

Our words cut like glass through all that remains

I’ll find a way

Another way to let go of every trace

they will try again to weigh us down

but we won’t let them in

try as they may.

The fires burning in our beating hearts

will forever light the way until the end

From my heart I stab at the darkest night

for I see the moon within
