Wrathchild America was a thrash metal band from Los Angeles that formed in the late 1970s. The original lineup included guitarist Craig Pruett, drummer John McDermott, and bassist Terry Carter, with vocalist Max Havoc joining in 1982. They played clubs around LA during the early 1980s while developing their sound.
Their debut album '3D Man' came out in 1984, with the title track becoming popular in underground metal circles. They followed it with 'Climax' in 1985 and 'Climbin' the Walls' in 1987, which included the song 'Day of the Thunder.' Their final studio album 'Electrocution' was released in 1989.
Their music had an aggressive edge that drew attention in the thrash scene of that era. Songs like 'Another Nameless Face' and 'Candy From A Madman' showed their approach to heavy, riff-driven metal with confrontational lyrics. They were part of that wave of LA bands playing fast, loud music in the mid-to-late 1980s.
