WSTRN formed as a trio in West London with members Akelle Charles, Haile, and Louis Rei. Their debut single "IN2" came out in 2015 and found an audience with its melodic approach to hip-hop. They followed it with songs like "Never Find" and "Come Down."
In 2017 they released a self-titled debut album that mixed hip-hop with R&B and Afrobeats. They put out two more albums, "Duality" in 2019 and "Five Star" in 2021.
In 2016, Charles was arrested on a firearm charge.
