X-change formed in London in 1993 as a duo with Andy Cato and Barry Ashworth. They put out their self-titled debut album the following year. The track "Drown" came out in 1998 and became their most recognizable song, with its refrain "I'm drowning in you" getting steady play in clubs and on radio.

Ashworth left the group in 2001, and Cato continued the project alone. They released four studio albums between 1994 and 2002, including "Unleash" and "Message in the Bottle." Other songs in their catalog include "Weight Of Your Love (feat. Kylie Odetta)" and "Our Rights."
