Archive material and source history
X Flamenco formed in 2002 with guitarists Paco Soto and Pepe Habichuela, vocalist Pedro Fernández, bassist Carlos Sarduy, and percussionist Israel Suárez "Piraña." Their self-titled debut album came out that same year. They released three more studio albums: "El Adiós" in 2005, "Navidad Flamenca" in 2006, and "Dejando Huella" in 2009.
Their song "Maltrato," the lead single from "El Adiós," became known as an anthem against gender-based violence. The track's lyrics and performance sparked wider conversation about the issue in Spain, and the band used their platform to advocate for women's rights.
Over time, creative differences and personal issues led to several members leaving the group, though they continued to record and perform.
