Archive material and source history
X-Melody was a Brazilian group formed by brothers Felipe and Renan Marques with their cousins Marcelo and Marcos Costa. They started playing in local bars and clubs around Rio de Janeiro. Their debut album 'Paixão Fatal' came out in 2012 and included the title track, which became one of their most recognizable songs.
That song 'Paixão Fatal' and another called 'Sonho Mal' were known for their romantic themes. Some critics at the time found their style overly sentimental, but the group kept making music in that vein. They released later albums like 'Intensidade' and 'Eu Sou o Amor' that mixed Brazilian rhythms with pop and R&B.
Their lyrics sometimes stirred up debate, and there were rumors about their personal lives that followed them around. They didn't really address those rumors directly, but they kept performing and recording through it. The music itself stayed focused on emotional, relationship-driven themes.
