X-Ponjas were a 1990s band known for their soulful take on "Unchain My Heart." The song got some radio play in its day, and the group put out a few albums around the turn of the millennium, including 'Grease Paint' in 2000. They had a lineup that included Erik Schrody on vocals, Damon Murray on bass, Anthony Carter on drums, and Joseph Harris on keyboards.
The band's sound pulled from R&B and funk, and they eventually broke up in the early 2000s. Afterward, some members worked on other projects. Schrody did some solo work, while Murray and Carter started a band called Unchained.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
