X So Pretty formed in Brooklyn in 2016 with Sierra Casady on vocals and guitar, Abby Ehman on bass, and Chris Farren on drums. Their first single, 'Blim Blom,' came out the following year. The band put out three EPs: 'Blim Blom' in 2017, 'No Love for Michael' in 2018, and 'Drifter' in 2019. They've also released a string of singles, including 'Dream,' 'Flamboyant,' and 'I Miss You Somehow.'
Casady writes most of the material, and the three of them work together on arrangements. Their songs tend to drift between dream pop and something a little more unsettled, with Casady's voice floating over the top. They left their label in 2018 and have put out music on their own since then.
Some listeners have found their lyrics or online presence to be divisive, which has sparked occasional debate. The band's 2021 single was called 'Party in My Mind.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
