Xanakee formed in the late 1990s with Khamla Phanthana on vocals, Phetphan Phanthana on guitar, and Somphone Bounphakdy on bass. They released their debut album "Txoj Kev Sis Hlub" in 2003.
Their song "Txhob Rhuav Txoj Kev Sis Hlub" became particularly well-known. The band followed up with albums like "Txoj Kev Txaus Nyob" in 2005 and "Neeg Txhob Ciaj" in 2007.
Later albums included "Txoj Kev Hlub" in 2009 and "Hlub Tsis Tau" in 2011. The lineup also included Khamsone Phanthana on drums and Bounmy Bounphakdy on keyboard.
