Xanz formed in Buenos Aires with brothers Tomás and Santiago Cullen and their cousin Joaquín Cullen. They started making music together when they were young, eventually developing a sound that mixed indie rock with folk and electronic elements. Their first album, 'Planeta Desierto,' came out in 2019 and included songs like 'No Te Quiero Ver' and 'Mi Culpa.'
In 2021, they released their second album, 'Respira,' which featured 'Pills Para Olvidar.' That song became their most recognized track, connecting with listeners who found something genuine in its approach to difficult subjects. The band's lyrics often touched on addiction and mental health, which sometimes drew criticism but also built a dedicated following.
Tomás Cullen handles vocals and guitar, Santiago plays bass and sings backup, and Joaquín is on drums with additional vocals. They've kept that lineup steady while continuing to write and record. Their music doesn't fit neatly into one genre, which has been part of their appeal from the start.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
