Xi-void formed in New Haven, Connecticut, playing heavy metal with what their fans describe as a particularly intense approach. They followed it with Stigmata in 2007, Seraphim in 2010, Termination in 2013, and Beyond the Abyss in 2016.
The band's lineup has included Jay Reaper on vocals, Joe Trohman on guitar, Patrick Stump on bass, and Andy Hurley on drums. Their sound is built around heavy guitar riffs and driving rhythms, with songs like The Stone Maiden and Vampire showing their style. They've maintained a steady presence in the underground metal scene without much mainstream attention.
Early on, they had trouble finding label support, partly because some found their music and lyrics too extreme. They denied accusations about their content. They kept releasing music on their own terms, building a dedicated following that appreciated their direct approach. Their live shows are known for being loud and aggressive, matching the feel of their recordings.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
