Xibalba formed in South Texas in 2007 as a quartet. Their debut album 'Ultratumba' came out in 2010, a raw death metal record that established their sound. They followed it with 'Tierra y Libertad' in 2012, which got some critical attention and led to touring with bands like Morbid Angel and Slayer.
In 2015 they released 'As Leaves They Fall,' a concept album that many fans consider their strongest work. The title track and songs like 'Mala Mujer' and 'Furor Antiquus' show their blend of heavy rhythms and atmospheric melodies. They've put out several albums since, including 'Años en Infierno' in 2018 and 'Fuego Eterno' in 2022.
They continue with Alex Aguila on vocals, Charlie Suarez and Esteban Garcia on guitars, and Dennis Garcia on drums.
