Xibiu De Gia formed in Brasov in 2015. The band's name comes from a Romanian phrase meaning "worthless," which they used with a bit of self-deprecating humor. Their original lineup included Vlad Munteanu on vocals, Robert Toma on keyboards, Alex Morar on guitar, and Tiberiu Horvath on drums.
In 2018, they released "Jennifer," a single that became a hit in Romania. The song's catchy melody and humorous video connected with listeners. They followed it with other tracks like "Não Sei Porque" and "Tarde De Verão."
Their music mixes pop and dance with some Romanian folk touches. They've mentioned influences ranging from Michael Jackson to Romanian folk singer Maria Tanase. In 2020, they put out an album called "De-aici incolo."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
