Xiii Weeks formed in the early 2000s with vocalist and guitarist Julien "Jules" Brass. Their debut EP, "The Offering," came out in 2002 and got some attention for its mix of melodic death metal and progressive rock.
In 2005, they released the song "In Memoriam," which became their most recognized track. It had a haunting melody and orchestral elements that connected with metal listeners.
The band put out several albums over the next decade, including "Echoes of the Past" in 2008 and "Aeternum" in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
