Xisde formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil around 2003 with Maurício Barcellos on vocals and guitar, Paulinho Galvão on bass, and Rodrigo Barba on drums. Their debut album '666' came out in 2006 and included the track 'Lá vem o alemão,' which became something of an anthem for them. They followed it with 'Inferno Metálico' in 2008.
In 2011, there was a public dispute with another member, Alexandre 'Pinguim' Rüdiger, who left the group. They kept going and put out 'Amanhecer' in 2012. Later albums like 'Elephantes' from 2016 and 'Aos Trancos e Barrancos' from 2020 continued their run. Other songs in their catalog include 'A borboleta e o cão sem dono,' 'Alô Alô,' and 'Mais Uma Canção de Amor.'
They've played a lot of shows in Brazil and elsewhere in South America, known for a raw, energetic sound that pulls from hard rock and punk, with some reggae touches here and there.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
