XNX COFFIN formed in Seoul with vocalist and guitarist Jinwoo Park and bassist Jinhong Kim. They started as an independent band working with heavy metal, pop, and electronica influences. Their song 'Groupie' drew attention for its look at musician-fan relationships, which led to some legal challenges early on.
Their music shifted over time from the raw energy of their debut EP 'Prologue: Genesis' to later releases that wove in more electronic and experimental textures. Tracks like 'Pago Seu Vôo Pra' and 'Pussy' show that range. Drummer Doyoon Jung joined to round out their live sound.
They kept writing and recording, putting out albums like 'The Fallen Angel' and 'Quantum Leap' before their most recent work, 'Apocalypse X,' which brought in orchestral arrangements. Songs such as 'Mudança' and 'Rush' reflect their continued exploration of different sounds without settling into one category.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
